Jose Hernandez, an astronaut who rose from the ranks of a migrant farmworker family, shared a powerful message: “Se vale soñar en grande” – it’s worth dreaming big. His journey from humble beginnings to space reminds us that our dreams shape our futures. This resonated deeply with me. When we dare to dream beyond what we think is possible, we unlock a vision for ourselves and for our communities. Our aspirations are the foundation for building a more promising future, one that transcends the limitations placed on us by society.
2. Disruption and Opportunity Go Hand in Hand
In the midst of chaos and fear, there lies opportunity. This truth was underscored throughout the summit. We often find ourselves so caught up in the disruption of the present moment that we forget to step back and look at the bigger picture. Taking time to distance ourselves from immediate challenges allows us to gain clarity. It’s in these moments of reflection that we can identify the gaps in society and recognize the opportunities to build something better.
